The Ohio State Controlling Board has approved the release of funding through the NatureWorks program to Trumbull County on Monday.

NatureWorks projects are funded through the Ohio Parks and Natural Resources bond issues, which was approved by Ohio voters back in 1993.

Area projects in the Trumbull County area are as follows:

-Willow Park in Cortland will receive $60,961 for the replacement of a restroom facility.

-Waugh Park in Hubbard will receive $20,975 for the installation of new playground equipment.

In addition, the city of Lordstown received $1,500,000 for financing the upgrade of local water service in support of the construction of a new manufacturing facility.

Ohio State Rep. Mike Loychik says he's happy to see these funds making Trumbull County a better place.

"It's wonderful to see these state funds being allocated to Trumbull County making Ohio's 63rd District a better place to work, live and raise a family," Loychik said.
