BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County says they have ten chickens and two ducks that are looking for a new home to roost.

CEO Lori Shandor said it's not very often that the non-profit deals with farm yard fowl, but other organizations that typically assist with these types of animals are currently at capacity. Therefore, the AWL is looking to quickly find the animals a new home.

Shandor said the hens and ducks came from a home in Brookfield. The owner has passed away and had several animals on the property. Shandor said the owner was in poor health, so the care of the animals has been "less than ideal."

The ideal home for these birds would include access to water and a barn, or chicken coop to roost.

The hens are young, between 1 and 2 years-old, and the Pecking Ducks are a male and female.

Adoptions fees are $10.
