Canton woman arrested after attempting to run Sebring man over with vehicle

A north Canton woman has been arrested Thursday evening after trespassing on a Sebring man's property and attempting to run him over with her vehicle in September of 2021.
Police say 22-year-old Emily Oakes, along with 19-year-old Kayla Hester were on the man's property in September after being involved with the theft of a dog.
Upon arrival to the scene, police say the passenger side window of Oakes's vehicle had been shattered.
Oakes told police that she had drove Hester to the victim's residence so they could work things out. The victim reportedly began to argue with the two suspects before Oakes put her car in reverse and threatened to run him over.
The victim's roommate, along with a neighbor tell police that Oakes did attempt to run the victim over, but he jumped out of the way before the car could hit him and punched the window of the vehicle.
Oakes was charged with Felonious Assault and Criminal Trespassing. Hester was charged with criminal trespassing, but was released from custody on a $500.
Oakes was arrested on Thursday in the lobby of the Sebring Police Department .
