The Youngstown State men's basketball team has set a program record for most conference wins after defeating IUPUI, notching the Penguins' 12th Horizon League victory. 

The Penguins beat the Jaguars 74-61, improving their overall record to 18-11 this season. It's the eighth time in YSU's Division I history the program has won 18 games.

Youngstown State had three score in double figures as Michael Akuchie had 21 points to go along with 13 rebounds. Dwayne Cohill had 19 points and Tevin Olison added another 15. The Penguins shot over 58 percent from the field and made went 5-10 from 3-point territory. 

YSU has won two straight overall and eight of the last nine games following Saturday's win. It was the third straight win over the Jaguars in the series, who fall to 3-23 on the season. 

The Penguins close out the regular season portion of the schedule with two road games, beginning Thursday at Wright State. The Raiders are third in the Horizon League, sitting at 16-12 overall and 13-6 in the conference. YSU then travels to Northern Kentucky (15-11, 11-6) Saturday, Feb. 26.
