Explosive training happening over weekend at Camp Garfield near Newton Falls
The training is part of military readiness training that simulates realistic battle conditions.

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - Residents and business owners near Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center may hear some increased noise in the area this weekend.
Explosives are scheduled to be used by Ohio Army National Guard engineers during training.
The training is part of military readiness training that simulates realistic battle conditions.
Residents can expect to hear intermittent gunfire as well as explosions at the facility during the annual training season which runs through September.
Major infrastructure improvements are also ongoing including the addition of a new automated record fire range and a fire and movement range.
