BAZETTA TWP., Ohio - A mother and son from Warren are facing robbery charges after allegedly stealing from Menards and punching an employee.

According to the report, the incident happened Friday night at Menards on Walmart Drive.

Police spoke with a Menards loss prevention employee who confronted 38-year-old Pamela Lorraine and 18-year-old Steven Lorraine.

The employee said he attempted to stop them at the exit after watching them pass the register without paying for the items.

Reports say the employee saw a stolen item in Lorraine's purse and tried to retrieve the item. Pamela Lorraine allegedly pushed the employee away and saw Steven Lorraine moving toward him.

Police say Steven Lorraine punched the employee in the side of the head before they left the store.

Pamela and Steven Lorraine were arrested Monday at Warren Municipal Court.

According to the report, Pamela Lorraine claimed she was in jail at the time of the robbery and that she had a twin sister who must have committed the crime.

Trumbull County Jail records say Pamela was booked into the jail Saturday night and was released Sunday morning, which was after the incident at Menards occurred.

Officers say Steven Lorraine claimed he was not aware that his mother was stealing and punched the employee to protect his mom from the unknown man.

Both Pamela and Steven Lorraine are facing a robbery charge and are being held in the Trumbull County Jail.
