Local Trooper gets social media recognition for helping stranded motorist

For at least the second time in recent years, a local Trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol is being recognized for going above and beyond to help a stranded motorist.
A post to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Facebook page shows Trooper Dan Deluca filling a car up with gas along the side of the highway.
The post and picture was originally published by Keilan Beachum, who said he was on his way to work when he ran out of gas.
The post said, "Trooper Deluca was chill and offered me a ride to the gas station and let me use his gas can," The post goes on to say, "Say what you will about State Troopers but they’re A-okay in my book. Trooper Deluca is a real one."
The post has been shared hundreds of times.
Trooper Deluca was praised for a similar act of kindness in 2019. At the time, he helped a family of five that were stranded along State Route 11.
Deluca, who is known as the people's Trooper because of his affinity to get out in the community, said he simply did what needed to be done.
Trooper Deluca was also recognized for his actions in 2017 for helping a child who was choking at Chick-fil-A.
