BOARDMAN, Ohio - After 15 years, St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Boardman is saying goodbye to their beloved pastor, Father Philip Rogers.

In his farewell message on July 31st, Fr. Rogers recounted his experiences with St. Charles and its congregation.

"I am grateful for all that you have done for our Parish together," said Fr. Rogers.

In his homily on July 17th, Fr. Rogers announced his departure following a conversation with Bishop David Bonnar.

"I have had the privilege and the pleasure of serving the people of this parish, and I am most thankful for all of those years," Fr. Rogers told the congregation. "Each and every day has not always been fun, but no job ever is. And through all of it, I have received great encouragement and tremendous support from the Parish of St. Charles."

"I do want to make sure you know how thankful I am for you, how much you have meant to me during these years, and just how deep my sense of gratitude is," he continued.

Fr. Rogers is headed to Struthers for his new assignment, where he will serve as the pastor of Christ Our Savior Parish.
