Demolition has just begun at the Austintown Fitch High School stadium for some brand-new bleachers coming to the stadium very soon.

Demolition started at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday and crews are now at work to upgrade the bleachers.

The stadium's current bleachers are expected to be fully demolished by the end of the week. From there, cleanup can begin and crews can start working on replacing the bleachers.

The new bleachers should be fully installed and ready to go in July just in time for football season. Operations and Facilities Director, Matthew Bostian tells 21 News there will also be upgrades below the bleachers.

"The bleachers should be up in July for football, and once that's completed, the facilities underneath will be completed which will be men's and women's bathroom facilities on both sides, a family restroom, boy's and girl's soccer locker rooms along with softball and baseball locker rooms," Bostian said.

In addition, work is also being done on an elevator that will lead up to the press box, as well as some more handicap-accessible seating up from the top view. These additions should be completed after football season.
