WARREN, Ohio -  It's being called a transformational project for the Warren City School District - a nearly 24 million dollar project being funded without new taxes on residents.

The Student Recreation and Wellness Center was presented Monday, Jan. 30 at the school board meeting.

There's a number of new and improved pieces in the project including a new football locker room, medical facilities, an e-sports lab and a student run bistro.

Superintendent Steve Chiaro says these items will lead to more student success.

"We believe that when our students are engaged in the work and the process of learning here in Warren City Schools through opportunities such as this it increases their likelihood of success," Chiaro said. "This will have them competing stronger academically and otherwise."

The school started construction in the summer of 2022. Students will start partially using the facility in the Fall of 2023 before the rest is finished in 2024.
