Hunting and fishing expo underway at the Fairgrounds

There's something for everyone interested in the great outdoors at the Canfield Fairgrounds from February 3-5.
This year's Canfield Hunting and Fishing Supershow features more than 100 exhibitors for fishing, hunting, and boating enthusiasts.
Whether you need a new hunting bow or a new fishing rod, or maybe you want to take some classes from the Valley's top fishing experts or buy a boat, there's something for everyone at the Fairground's 4H expo building.
"I'll be talking about inter-lake walleye fishing, fishing in Lake Erie, and fishing in different lakes across the country," said Sammy Cappelli, Cabela's National Walleye Champion who is speaking at the expo this weekend.
Cappelli is now a national walleye touring pro who is from Youngstown.
The expo offers hunting and fishing seminars and you can purchase any of the thousands of hunting and fishing items available.
Cappelli and crappie handler Dan Elko will host several fishing seminars throughout the weekend.
"I'm there to do seminars and I'm there to ask questions to people in the audience too because I want to learn from them," Cappelli added.
There is fun for the whole family with sweet treats and food available along with some friendly pups looking for homes. Local vendors have everything you'll need.
"We have crossbows, compound bows, arrows, and all the things that go with it," explained Joe Walters, Owner of Autumn Addiction Archery in Cortland. His company is selling hunting and fishing items throughout the weekend at the expo.
He said he enjoys the expo because he's able to talk to hundreds of people around the area who share the same outdoor passions as him.
"I like to touch and feel and see what I'm buying," Walters explained. "Supporting your local business goes a long way. That's what our country was built on."
The expo offers a few generous giveaways including kayaks, ATV's and fishing trips.
The expo runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is $8.00. Kids 11 and younger are free.
