NESHANNOCK TWP., Lawrence Co. Pa. - Neshannock Township Police have arrested a man who is allegedly connected with a fatal hit-skip crash from December of 2022 just before Christmas Eve.

According to a press release, the crash occurred on December 23, 2022. Police were dispatched to the intersection of Wilmington Road and Nesbitt Road for a welfare check on a man lying in the middle of the street bleeding from a head injury.

The victim, later identified as David Chaifullo was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police say investigation revealed that 32-year-old Zachary Patrick was allegedly driving northbound on Wilmington Road while his driving privileges were suspended and was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police say Patrick failed to stay in his lane, crossed two lanes of traffic and drove through the parking lot of a local auto dealership striking Chiafullo with his vehicle.

Patrick allegedly continued to drive until he struck a nearby fire hydrant damaging it and another nearby business.

Patrick was arrested on Tuesday and is charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, accidents involving damage to property, failure to give information/aid, reckless and careless driving, driving under suspension, driving in marked lanes, driving on the right side of the roadway and accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed.
