City of Struthers facade program offering grants to businesses

STRUTHERS, Ohio - The City of Struthers is adopting their own small business facade grant program for 2023.
The city will offer a 50% match facade grant up to $5,000 to businesses located within city limits that are not located in the downtown area. The grants are for the purpose of improving the aesthetic appearance of the building's exterior.
The improvements include exterior walls, lighting, awnings, windows, doors, sidewalk repairs, landscaping and fixed exterior furnishings.
According to Mayor Catherine Cercone Miller, the city of Struthers is adopting this grant program to help with the appearance of Struthers buildings as part of an overall effort to make Struthers a destination point for the local area.
Last year, the city of Youngstown adopted their own facade grant program after Youngstown Council members approved $1 million to match any funds the business fronts for facade improvements.
Businesses interested in applying to the grant program can find a copy of the application on the City of Struthers Facebook page.
