As the train derailment continues to impact East Palestine residents, an area hospital says it's monitoring the situation.

According to the release, Mercy Health is closely monitoring the situation and is engaged with the Columbiana County Health District, Ohio EPA and other local, state and federal agencies.

Mercy Health says the health and safety of the East Palestine community is their top priority and they stand ready to help anyone who needs medical attention.

Officials with the hospital say to contact your primary care physician if they experience respiratory distress or other symptoms.

Mercy Health East Palestine Primary Care and Mercy Health Columbiana Primary Care are both open and seeing patients.

The company also operates eight walk-in care locations in the Valley including one in Columbiana.

If you are in need of emergency treatment, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
