Injury accident temporarily closes part of Route 7 in Columbiana County

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a traffic accident that temporarily shut down part of Route 7 in Columbiana County early Thursday.

ELKRUN TWP., Ohio - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a traffic accident that temporarily shut down part of Route 7 in Columbiana County early Thursday.

The one vehicle crash occurred just before 3:30 a.m. just north of Middle Beaver Road in Elkrun Township.

A man and a woman were injured. A rescue squad took at least one victim to a hospital. There's no word yet on that person's name or condition.

A utility pole was snapped during the accident. FirstEnergy was dispatched to repair wires that were down across the road.

By 5 a.m. the road was open again.
