MAC Trailer which builds its' four products including flatbeds,  dump, tank, and refuse trailers has plans to expand in Smith Township.  
 
The company expects the expansion to retain $4.5 million dollars in existing payroll.
 
Plus the creation of 80 new full-time jobs will generate $4 million dollars in new payroll. 
 
Today Ohio announced it's extending a 1.3 percent 7-year tax credit to the company.
 
The company built the 7 Million dollar facility there without an abatement.  
 
And Mac Trailer will be asking Smith Township and the West Branch School District for tax abatements so it can invest from $7 million to $15 million dollars in an expansion project to double the facility.
 
"That's probably about $60,000 dollars a year to help us put into our factory, put into jobs, put into equipment. Also, that will leave about a 200 square foot facility sitting in Smith Township, West Branch schools, probably for the next hundred years," Michael A. Conny the President and Owner of MacTrailer said. 
 
The manufacturing plant is expected to provide great jobs for many years in this growing industry.
 
If the approvals are given the company wants to break ground in a couple of weeks.
 
Then it plans to open doors to open before the end of the year. 
 
"We are hoping the tax abatements go through so the building is ready to go.  If it all goes through the state and our local officials we will be breaking 
ground in a couple of weeks. We are just waiting on their votes," Conny said.
 
Pay starts at $20.00 an hour with benefits, and reaches up to $32.00 an hour with benefits. 
 
Mac Trailer has other plants about 5 to 8 miles away with openings so the growing company with 1600 workers across the country
