A woman was rescued from a vehicle after a rollover crash in Beaver Township left her trapped inside.

OSP troopers on scene tell 21 News that the crash happened when a Kia struck a Toyota Scion causing the driver to lose control and roll over in a ditch on SR-46 just north of SR-165 in Beaver Township.

Dispatchers say the Scion, driven by a 72-year-old Niles woman was traveling northbound and was stopped waiting to make a left turn when the Kia driven by a 27-year-old Mineral Ridge woman hit her from behind. We're told the Kia had two children inside.

The driver of the Kia was cited for an assured clear distance violation.

Fire crews on scene had to cut the roof off of the vehicle in order to rescue the woman.

Troopers say both the driver of the Scion and Kia were transported to the hospital via ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, and the father of two children came to pick them up from the scene.
