Sharon robotics team wins Finalist Champion Award at national competition
A Sharon robotics team has returned from the Razorback Invitational at the University of Arkansas with new awards.
After several days of competition, the Sharon Team, Tiger Techs Team Orange, received the Finalist Champion's Award.
The award is the highest award given at the event and celebrates a team that embodies the First Lego League Challenge experience, by fully embracing the core values while achieving excellence and innovation in Robot Performance, Robot Design and the Innovation Project.
First Lego stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology."
The team also received a 4th Place Robot Alliance Award with their alliance partner from New Mexico, MVLA Rockets, and a 9th place robot performance score overall.
The Sharon Tiger Techs Team Orange designed, built and programmed an EV3 LEGO Mindstorm Robot that autonomously completed tasks on a playing field for 2.5 minutes.
The Park 'n Charge is a high speed wireless charger located in commercial areas allowing for customers to shop, dine, and enjoy their time while their vehicle charges.
The team, composed of nine students in 4th through 8th grade, qualified for the Razorback Invitational at Penn State Behrend in Erie back in January. While at the Northwest PA Championship, the Tiger Techs received the Second Place Champion's Award and a Second Place Robot Performance Award.
