The Red Cross is helping a South Pymatuning Township family while the state fire marshal is looking for the cause of a fire that destroyed their home.

According to the South Pymatuning Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters who just happened to be on their way to the fire station discovered flames at a home on the 2900 block of Tamarack Drive shortly before 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

While one of the firefighters went inside to make sure no one was in the home, another firefighter called in more crews and continued to the fire station to bring a fire engine back.

In addition, crews from the Sharpsville Volunteer Fire Department, Hermitage Fire and Rescue, Patagonia Vol. Fire Dept., and the McGonigle Ambulance also responded.

No one was injured.
