NEWTON TWP, Ohio - When people are trapped in a wrecked vehicle, First Responders sometimes must use a power tool known as the “Jaws of Life” to rescue them.
Firefighters from the Newton Falls Fire District used the tool after a traffic accident on Tuesday, but not for rescuing any humans.
When the fire department arrived at the scene of a car that crashed into a tree along East River Road in Newton Township, the driver had already managed to crawl out of the wreckage.
However, firefighters found three caged kittens trapped on the driver’s side of the mangled car.
After cutting away the twisted metal, rescuers managed to remove the kittens unharmed.
