Warren City Council to meet regarding increase in crashes at intersection near One Health Ohio

WARREN, Ohio - Warren First Ward Councilman, Todd Johnson has called for a meeting Wednesday night to discuss the increase in crashes at an intersection in the city.
The intersection in question is located at Tod Avenue and Palmyra Road near One Health Ohio at Warren West. Councilman Johnson tells 21 News the traffic light at this intersection is currently in flashing mode.
Johnson says a petition to change the traffic signal back to normal has garnered over 600 signatures within the past two weeks due to an increase in crashes, truck traffic and nearby schools. Johnson says several of these crashes were "serious."
Johnson added that another intersection is having a similar issue at Parkman Road NW and Denison Avenue, but that intersection will not be addressed at Wednesday's meeting.
Councilman Johnson tells 21 News these lights have switched over to blinking after the city engineer advised Council that several traffic signals were deemed "borderline" in the city's latest traffic study.
This means that the signals could be switched back to full functionality if need be.
The meeting will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. in the Warren City Council Chambers.
