Phantom Fireworks seeing major uptick for Fourth of July firework sales in Ohio

Ohio & Mahoning Valley - Phantom Fireworks is seeing a major uptick in sales in Ohio compared to 2022.
This year, the legal dates to set off fireworks include the weekend before the holiday, as well as July 3, 4 and 5.
Phantom Fireworks Deputy General Counsel, Michael Podlosky says now that there are plenty of days around the holiday where it's legal to set off fireworks, this has greatly increased sales numbers.
"People are really excited that now there are legal days to shoot in Ohio. Before, you had to take the fireworks outside of state within 48 hours. Now, there are particular legal days you can shoot, so we've seen a lot of business in Ohio stores," Podlosky said.
However, Podlosky is reminding Ohioans that even though it's legal for adults in Ohio to purchase fireworks now, there's still a great responsibility involved with who should handle them and how they should handle them.
"Sober adults should be the only ones touching the fireworks. Children should just be watching. Even sparklers, just watching and never holding them," Podlosky said.
Podlosky went on to say if you're setting off fireworks on the grass, have a peace of plywood available to brace the items on both sides and prevent them from tipping forward and keep a source of water nearby.
