Certain Kiwi products recalled in Ohio, Pennsylvania due to potential Listeria contamination

Ohio & PA - David Oppenheimer and Company I LLC has issued a recall on some of its organic green kiwifruit products due to them potentially being contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
According to the FDA's website, the recalled product was sold at various local retailers in multiple states including Ohio and Pennsylvania between June 14 and July 7 of 2023.
The fruit was sold in packages bearing UPC code 8 18849 02009 3 and the fruit itself was stickered with the GTIN bar code 9400 9552.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious, sometimes fatal illnesses in young children, frail or elderly people or those with weakened immune systems. Listeria could also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
Healthy individuals may only suffer from short-term symptoms like high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. So far, no illnesses related to the product have been reported.
If you have purchased a recalled product, you're asked not to consume it and instead throw it away immediately.
Zespri organic green kiwifruit shipped after August 7 with a white sticker on the fruit that includes a work order number and a packed on date are not affected by this recall.
