NILES, Ohio - Less than a week after a Niles man broke into a home with eight children inside, he was already handed his sentence.

According to Niles Municipal Court employees, 19-year-old James Long pled no contest to one count of Burglary during his arraignment, which he was found guilty of.

He was then sentenced to 180 days in jail with credit for three of those days served. Additionally, he's no longer allowed on the property where the offense occurred.

Long's charges stem from an incident that occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. Sunday when he broke into a home on the 30 Block of Beaver Avenue. Police say the home had eight children between the ages of six and 16 years old inside.

According to a CAD sheet and 911 audio, Long was intoxicated and asking to be shot.
