The Badger golf team is making school history.

The Braves are playing in their first ever state tournament starting Friday in Columbus.

"Its awesome. We dreamed about this the entire year and as soon as we qualified it meant the world to us," said junior Austin Mariani.

"It means a lot to the community and the kids have to understand the significance," stated coach Mark Mariani.

The team finished 18-0 in the regular season and played in several invitational tournaments and won their conference championship.

"That's going to help them in the state tournament," said the elder Mariani.

Other Badger players leading the way are Ian Trickler and Hudson Rice.
