Local family to host fundraiser to help support funeral expenses for families

After their son died in a car accident in July, the family of Tommy Hutchinson was left in a difficult situation struggling with the financial burden of their loved one's funeral.
Hutchinson's mother, Pamela VanHoose, said the sudden loss of the kind-hearted 26-year-old jokester was devastating and they wanted to honor his memory with a proper burial. With the help they received from the community, they were able to do that. Now they are working to pay that kindness forward with a fundraiser event called Tacos for Tommy.
Tommy's family decided they wanted to help alleviate the stress for others facing similar hardships and created Tacos for Tommy after their son's love for the dish. The fundraiser is to help support families who have unexpectedly lost a loved one.
They're hoping to raise up to $15,000 with an auction, 50/50 raffle, and a meet and greet with Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik, who will be auctioning off a pair of his boxing gloves.
The Tacos for Tommy event will be Saturday Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brookfield Township Fire Department.
