A man convicted of leading police on a 120-mile-per-hour pursuit through downtown Warren is going to prison.
Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Cynthia Rice has sentenced 28-year-old Derek Hopson to 27 months in prison.
The Howland man pleaded guilty to failure to comply with a police order, receiving stolen property, and tampering with evidence.
Investigators say on May 25, police began chasing a stolen Chevy Equinox on Elm Road in Warren. After speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour, the pursuit ended near railroad tracks in Lordstown.
Prosecutors said Hopson threw items out of the window during the chase, including a gun and a bag of suspected drugs.
