COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio - A Crestview teacher and one of her first students reunited after more than three decades Wednesday.

Jason Larimore, a barber in Louisville, Kentucky, returned to the Valley for a show of gratitude.

After a surprise entrance, he presented Mrs. Shaffer with a "Beacon of Light" award, symbolizing the kindness she showed his class, along with flowers, an old yearbook, and buckets of chocolate.

"For 33 years, I've went throughout my life trying to recreate the kindness she showed me when I was a little boy, so I have been blessed beyond measure," Larimore said.

"I can't even believe it, I was so surprised today," Crestview Elementary teacher Micki Shaffer said. "We all want to impact our students and for me to do that the first year, it's just amazing."

The two ended their reunion by looking through yearbook photos and remembering their old class before taking pictures with Mrs. Shaffer's current class.
