CLEVELAND, Ohio - April 8 is a big day for Northeast Ohio. Not only is it the day of the total solar eclipse, but it's also the Cleveland Guardians home opener.

If you're a baseball and astronomy fan, you can experience the eclipse and Guardians game from the stands at Progressive Field.

The Guardians have moved their home opener against the Chicago White Sox to 5:10 p.m., almost two hours after the effects of the eclipse will take place in Cleveland. For fans who want to see the eclipse and the game, the stadium will open at 2 p.m.

According to NASA's research, total darkness should descend on Cleveland between 3:13 and 3:17 p.m.

The City of Cleveland has warned about the expected surge in traffic on April 8 due to the eclipse. If you're planning on heading to Cleveland for the eclipse and game, account for extra traffic.
