Leaders in Columbiana County are hoping new funding opportunities will help kick start some vital projects, like street and sewer upgrades.

On Tuesday afternoon, leaders came together at the Columbiana Port Authority building to learn about money that's available to help fund their wish list of projects that need attention.

Salem Mayor, Cyndi Baronzzi Dickey, says road improvements are a top priority in her city. With supply prices still high, she is hoping new grants will help bolster infrastructure.

The mayor is also hoping for money for a new safety services complex for the city's police, dispatch and fire departments.

Larry Willard, Columbiana city manager, echoed the desire to repave roads, but he is also focusing on improving the city's sewer system.
