WARREN, Ohio - A Warren woman faces criminal charges after police say they found her two children covered in broken glass in the back seat of her damaged car.

Tra’niece Ellison, 27, pleaded not guilty Monday to two counts of endangering children, criminal damaging, and felonious assault.

Officers say they were flagged down late Sunday on Youngstown Road by a woman in a car with a damaged bumper and windshield.

The rear window of the car was shattered, and Ellison’s two children were in the back seat, covered with broken glass and not wearing seat belts, according to the police report.

The report described the boy and girl as “young” but did not state their ages.

Ellison told the officer she had been visiting a home on the 2400 block of Brier St. SE when she got into a fight.

After putting her children in the car, Ellison claims someone shattered the back window and cracked the windshield.

Ellison said as she drove away, she accidentally ran into a parked SUV and a fence.

A woman who lives at the Brier Street address told police that Ellison got into an argument at the home, then left, putting her kids in her car before driving it into an SUV and a fence.

The woman also told police that Ellison also tried to run into a group of people before driving away.

When Ellison was arrested, Police say she screamed and kicked the cruiser door. At the county jail, deputies say Ellison refused to answer their questions.

Another court hearing for Ellison is scheduled for May 2.

Her children were not injured and turned over to the care of a relative.
