The Youngstown Education Association, the union representing the district's 400 teachers, will be voting on a tentative agreement with the Youngstown City School District on Friday.

According to sources with knowledge of the situation, the tentative agreement was reached on April 12.

The agreement's details are not currently known. If approved, it will avoid the potential for a back-to-back strike in the district. Last year, Youngstown teachers approved a strike after negotiations broke down at the end of July.

The strike at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year lasted 25 days.

The details of the tentative deal or the length of the contract have not been made public at this time.
