Warren Police plan to look at security video as part of their investigation into the reported assault of a boy to steal $600 worth of basketball shoes.

The boy, whose age isn’t given in the police report, told his dad that he went to Niles Rd. SE and Brier Street SE last week to trade three pairs of Jordan basketball shoes worth $200 each.

The alleged victim, who told police he had done trades with the two boys before, said this time they stole the shoes and kicked him while he was on the ground before running away.

Noting in the report that the officer didn’t see any marks on the boy, police say there should be video of the incident from a camera across the street.

The shoes stolen were in a black duffel bag.

One pair is black, white, and red, the second pair has one yellow shoe and one red shoe, and the last pair is green and white with a little bit of gray on them.
