WARREN, Ohio - A Warren mother has pled guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter after her one-year-old son died of a drug ingestion.

According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 32-year-old Aris Rice pled guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter and one count of endangering children.

The charge stems from the death of Rice's one-year-old son who ingested prescription methadone in September of 2023, which resulted in methadone intoxication, cardiac arrest and anoxic brain injury.

The child later died in the hospital on October 1.

No sentencing date has been set for Rice at this time, but prosecutors say she could face up to three years in prison. She will remain free on bond until her sentencing.
