The number of charges against a Sebring man investigated by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has ballooned from five to 25 following a search of his home.

The Mahoning County Grand Jury has handed up an indictment charging 62-year-old Scott Sargent with 25 counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor.

Acting on a tip, Sebring Police arrested Sargent in April for allegedly having a picture showing a nude child.  The image of the girl, who police say appears to be seven or eight years old, is shown with a man’s hand on her bare leg.

The image was forwarded to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and enabled authorities to get a warrant to search Sargent’s home for computer accessories.

Before the grand jury indictment, Sargent faced three counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, one count of pandering obscenity involving a minor, and one count of possessing criminal tools.

The Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is an alliance of city, county, state, and federal law enforcement authorities who arrest and prosecute internet child predators and child pornographers.

A summons has been issued for Sargent to appear before a judge to answer the charges.
