Organizations asking for donations to help college-bound Youngstown students

Have a Youngstown grad who is heading to live at college?
Buying needed supplies to furnish dorm rooms is expensive. However, two community-focused organizations are looking to help out city residents who qualify.
Ailse One Mobile Market and Building Neighborhoods of Youngstown will be holding its Second Annual College Bound Dorm Essentials Drive and Distribution Party.
They are currently holding a Dorm Essentials Drive now through June 22, collecting Twin XL bedding, bath towels, monetary donations, and essential dorm supplies.
All proceeds will benefit graduating seniors from Youngstown East, Chaney, Ursuline, Mooney, Valley Christian, Rayen Early College, or Urban Scholars schools.
The supplies will be distributed on June 22 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Youngstown Event Center, 12 E. Dewey Ave., Youngstown. Those attending must show documentation of commitment to college or university and will be living on campus.
Anyone wishing to help the event coordinators is asked to call 330-314-3966 or mail donations to 360 E. Federal St., Suite 2, Attention COLLEGE BOUND.
