Coroner releases name of possible Salem Twp. drowning victim

SALEM TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Columbiana County Coroner is waiting for autopsy results following the possible drowning of a woman at her Salem Township home last Friday.
Meanwhile, a man who shared the Salem Grange Road home with 56-year-old Melanie Lamb faces charges for allegedly interfering with EMTs trying to save her life.
A criminal complaint says that William Hively repeatedly threatened to kill Emergency Medical Technicians as they administered life-saving measures to Lamb who was found in her swimming pool. The complaint says Hively was intoxicated and ignored orders to stay away from Lamb and the EMTs.
Hively, 53, pleaded “not guilty” on Monday to charges of aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct while intoxicated. Another court hearing is set for August 1.
The coroner won't have a ruling on the official cause of Lamb's death until tests are completed.
