Sharon Elks Lodge #103 gifts Mercer County Food Bank with $1,000 check
Mercer County Food Bank (MCFB) officials were presented with a check from The Sharon Elks B.P.O.E 103 for $1,000.
The check is to help feed veterans and their families throughout the community.
The Freedom grant made this contribution possible and will help provide meals to more than 600 veterans as well as active-duty military personnel.
The MilitaryShare program families will also be included in this gift. This program is a part of MCFB, and distributes food nine months per year.
The distribution goes out to veterans, active-duty military personnel and their families in need throughout the Mercer County. It is private and you must be pre-registered to participate.
"The Sharon Elks B.P.O.E 103 has contributed $5,025 to the need to sustain themselves and their families," said Rebecca Page, Executive Director, Mercer County Food Bank.
If you are a veteran or an active-duty service member in need of food assistance, you can call Bailey Shepard here to see if you qualify to participate in the program.
