A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for a 14-year-old boy accused of shooting a 12-year-old boy while trying to rob him of his shoes.

According to juvenile court records, a pretrial hearing was set for Wednesday, September 4 at 3:00 p.m. for the 14-year-old who is charged with attempted murder and aggravated robbery.

During an arraignment on August 20, the teen entered a denial plea for these charges.

The charges stem from an incident from August where the 14-year-old allegedly shot 12-year-old boy while trying to rob him for a pair of shoes. 

Police told 21 News the teen shot the victim and took off without grabbing the shoes he was after. Police believe the teen to have been shocked at himself.

Police said this same suspect was being held in the Juvenile Justice Center for attempting to steal a vehicle, possessing criminal tools and assault among other things.
