WARREN, Ohio - Police are checking out a report from a Warren man who claims that his car was stolen by someone who shoved a gun into his face as he sat at a traffic light.

Officers investigating a reported crash along the 3500 block of Dunstan Drive NW Monday night found a wrecked car in the woods, but no driver.

It wasn’t long after that another car pulled up with a man who said he was the owner of the crashed car.

The man told police his car was stopped at the traffic light at Parkman Road and Lover’s Lane about a mile away when a man walked up and pointed a gun through the car’s open window.

The owner said he grabbed the weapon and struggled with the assailant until he could get out of the car and run away.

Police say the owner of the car refused to file an official written report on the alleged incident.
