Girard woman released early from repeat DUI prison sentence

WARREN, Ohio - A Girard woman is being released from prison after serving one year of a three-year sentence handed down for a sixth OVI conviction within the last 15 years.
Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Cynthia Rice on Wednesday granted a judicial release request to 57-year-old Suzanne Ginty.
Judge Rice sentenced Ginty to three years in prison last October after Ginty pleaded guilty to DUI with a repeat offender specification.
Ginty was stopped by Liberty Township police in September of 2022 where she was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.36 according to prosecutors. That's 4.5 times the legal limit of 0.08.
Ginty faced mandatory incarceration and was ordered to forfeit the 2007 Buick she was driving at the time of the offense.
Ginty was previously charged with OVI in March of 2018, twice in November of 2014, once in April of 2011, and once in October of 2007.
