New Castle man imprisoned for 51 months for drug trafficking

NEW CASTLE, Pa. - Senior United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab has sentenced a 26-year-old New Castle man to 51 months in federal prison for trafficking fentanyl and cocaine.
Dontae Blackshear is also ordered to serve six years of supervised release after he has completed his prison term.
According to information presented to the court, Blackshear was responsible for trafficking 20 grams of fentanyl and 100 grams of cocaine in 2022.
During that time, he was on parole following a conviction and prison sentence for trafficking heroin in 2021.
The 2021 conviction was preceded by several convictions in separate state prosecutions since 2016, including assault, two violent burglaries, fleeing and conspiracy to commit theft.
Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller prosecuted this case on behalf of the United States.
United States Attorney Olshan commended the FBI, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, United States Postal Inspection Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Lawrence County Drug Task Force, Mercer County Drug Task Force, New Castle Police Department, Sharon Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police for the investigation leading to the successful sentencing of Blackshear.
