Aqua announces $1.2 million water main replacement project for City of Campbell
Aqua has begun work on a $1.2 million water main replacement project for the City of Campbell.
The project area includes Palmer, Morley and Wilson Avenue with work being done by Struthers-based company Rudzik Excavating. The project is part of $8.7 million that Aqua has invested in the Mahoning Valley and $65 million across the company's 40 Ohio systems in 2024.
Work will including the replacement of a six-inch and 10-inch diameter cast iron pipe with new ductile iron pipe, the installation of nine new fire hydrants and seven new valves and the installation of new Aqua-owned service lines for 28 customers.
Additionally, any property with lead or galvanized customer-owned service lines will be offered to have the lines replaced at no direct cost to the customer through Aqua's Lease Service Line replacement program.
Residents along the construction route will experience short-term service disconnections near the end of the project as properties are connected to the new mains. Those affected will be notified prior to these disruptions.
One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times and a temporary traffic signal will be placed on Wilson Avenue when work is being done. Drivers are asked to exercise caution when driving through the work zone.
