Poland Howard Hanna office raises money for Akron Children's at photos with Santa event
Kids in Poland got to meet and take pictures with Santa while donating to a local cause Saturday morning.
The Poland Howard Hanna office offered pictures with Santa and his friends for $10 apiece with all proceeds going towards the Akron Children's Free Care Fund. The event also featured several raffles including one for a toy Jeep to raise money as well.
The winner for the Jeep raffle will be chosen on Friday, December 20.
Mahoning Valley Howard Hanna District Manager Rebekah Rouser tells 21 News the company has been fundraising for causes like this since the 1980s through events like potluck lunches. The fundraisers continued to evolve from there.
Rouser added that all the money raised at these events stays right here in the Mahoning Valley.
"A lot of our agents have personal ties to Akron Children's Hospital from the births of their children and health issues that have happened over the years, so it means a lot to us to serve the community in more than just buying homes," Rouser said.
In addition to pictures with Santa, kids got to hear stories and color pictures with Mrs. Claus and enjoy refreshments like donuts, pizza and chocolate milk.
