The U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board selected East High School teacher Victor Arcenio as the recipient of the Fulbright Teacher Exchange award for the 2024-2025 cycle.

According to the release, Victor will join over 800 U.S. citizens selected to teach, study and research abroad for the 2024-2024 academic year. 

Recipients of this award, named "Fulbrighters", engage in research and expand their professional networks abroad.

When the participants return home, they share their stories and often become encouragers of international exchange. 

"I'm grateful to have the opportunity to bring diverse perspectives into the classroom and East Middle School. This experience will not only benefit my scholars but also foster global citizenship and understanding among cultures," said Victor Arcenio.

Notable Fulbright alumni include 62 Nobel Prize laureates, 90 Pulitzer Prize recipients and 82 MacArthur Fellows according to the Fulbright website.

Victor Arcenio will join the thousands of scholars who have received this award. 

Victor is also pictured as winning the Monthly Bear's Paw Award for outstanding performance as a teacher.
