Youngstown State University's Kilcawley Center is looking to modernize and renovate as part of the "Centered on the Future Campaign" launched to raise the $43 million needed to complete construction.

Joe and Pam Kerola have pledged $750,000 towards this goal. This contribution brings the goal of renovating the Kilcawley Center that much closer.

As part of their commitment, the second-floor lounge of the Kilcawley Center will be named the Kerola Family Cove according to a press release.

Joe Kerola is a member of the Board of Trustees at YSU. Himself and his wife, Pam Kerola, have been advocates and supporters of the campus in multiple ways including this most recent pledge.

They hold two scholarships at YSU:

The John Kerola athletic scholarship, honoring Joe's father.

The Kerola Family Scholarship in Business, awarded to Hubbard High School graduates who are business majors with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Additionally, the Kerola's donated $250,000 to support the Beeghly Center seating project, a project that was completed September 20, just in time for the Youngstown State University versus Kent State volleyball game

YSU President Bill Johnson said," Their gift will help transform Kilcawley Center into a dynamic space that fosters innovation, collaboration and community. We ae deeply grateful for their commitment to shaping the future of YSU and its students."
