Charges dismissed against Masury man accused of damaging neighbor's homes with fireworks blast

The Brookfield man accused of setting off a fireworks blast that damaged the homes of half a dozen neighbors on July Fourth has agreed to pay for the damage and court costs.
Trumbull County Eastern District Court officials tell 21 News that in exchange, all six criminal damaging charges filed against 19-year-old Larz Soos have been dismissed.
A police report states that Soos put several kinds of fireworks into a fire pit behind his Budd Street home, causing an explosion that shattered windows and knocked items off the walls of neighboring homes.
Investigators say Soos was recorded on security video buying $400 worth of fireworks days before the explosion.
Court officials say the victims agreed to dismiss the case in return for Soos paying damages totaling $715.
