According to a news release from the office of Governor Mike DeWine, three agencies in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties received portions of a $3 million funding distribution.

According to a graphic listing all the recipients, the following agencies received funding:

  • Trumbull County: Trumbull County Sheriff's Office - $90,655.40
  • Columbiana County: Columbiana County Sheriff's Office - $78,726.63

According to the release, the funding comes from grants under the 2025 Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund, and is aimed to support drug task forces' work in the following areas:

  • Preventing drug trafficking
  • Pharmaceutical diversion
  • Other organized criminal activity associated with the drug trade

The funds can be used by agencies to investigate drug trafficking organizations and disrupt the drug supply through intelligence gathering, information sharing and multi-agency coordination.

"Ohio's drug task forces are a major deterrent to those pushing drugs in our communities," said Governor DeWine.

He continued, " Their work is indispensable in rooting out traffickers and suppliers, and we are proud to continue offering this support."
