SHARON, Pa. - A nearly $1 million sidewalk project is set to begin in the City of Sharon next week.

The project is set to begin on Monday, April 28 and will consist of the replacement of approximately 1,100 feet of stormwater pipes and inlets, as well as repairs or replacement of nearly a quarter mile of sidewalk, adjacent curbs and ADA-compliant curb ramps on East State Street between Oakland Avenue and Sharpsville Avenue.

Work is expected to be completed in September of 2025 with some landscaping work to be done in the spring of 2026.

During the construction period pedestrians will be detoured and must use the sidewalk on the opposite side of the roadway. Access to all local businesses will be maintained.

Drivers may also encounter lane restrictions with traffic being controlled by flaggers.

The project will cost $993,842 paid entirely with federal funds. Work will be done by M&B Services based out of Clarion, Pennsylvania.
