YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Youngstown firefighter who was accused of committing workers' compensation fraud has entered a plea in his case.

According to Franklin County court records, firefighter Patrick Bundy pled guilty to one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. A felony count of theft was dismissed.

Court records show Bundy has been sentenced, but information on what exactly he was sentenced to was not immediately available.

Back in February of 2025, Bundy had been indicted on felony charges of theft and workers' compensation fraud. Court records show the workers' compensation fraud had been amended to a lesser offense.

Even though the fraud charge was amended, court records show that Bundy was still ordered to pay $5,880 in restitution to the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation.

Following the indictment, Bundy was suspended from work without pay for six weeks. That suspension is set to end at the end of May.

Youngstown Fire Chief Barry Finley said he is unaware of any other potential changes in Bundy's employment status with the fire department following this development.

Meanwhile, Youngstown Law Director Lori Shells-Simmons tells 21 News the Law Department has not yet spoken with Finley regarding the next steps in this matter.
